What to Expect
WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM A MASSAGE THERAPIST
- Mutual respect, courtesy, professionalism, confidentiality and dignity between you and the therapist.
- The therapist is licensed, registered and certified massage therapist and member of the CMTO.
- Follows the code of ethics and scope of practice under Canadian Law.
- Have you fill up an intake, health history form and have a conversation about medical conditions and your expectations for the massage.
- Provide you with a safe, peaceful, clean and welcoming environment
- Answer any questions to the best of their knowledge to meet your goals.
- Perform orthopaedic assessments and special tests to assess your condition and create an individualized treatment plan suitable for your needs.
- Explain clearly and in simple terms the assessment findings, treatment plan and future goals to help you through your healing journey.
WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM THE CLIENT
- Treat us and our clients with respect, courtesy and dignity.
- Treat us as a health care practitioner.
- Arrive on time at the massage appointment.
- Payment at the time of the service is expected.
- Provide reasonable cancellation notice (24 hours).
- Complete accurately disclosure of medical conditions or allergies during intake..
- Be cooperative and provide feedback when asked by the therapist to perform special test and orthopaedic assessments.
- Communicate your expectations and concern about the massage.
- While visiting us maintain common areas in the premises clean and tidy after each use (reception & washroom).
- When visiting us please keep noise to minimum as someone may be receiving a massage.
- Follow Wellness Centre Policies.
- Be realistic with your expectations; therapists are only able to treat conditions within their scope of practice.
